I will be speaking at the UK SME Public Procurement Conference this coming Thursday, 15th September 2011. I tend to pick and choose these events carefully as you can end up diong nothing but travel the speaker circuit rather than doing any hands on work!
This conference will be exploring the changing landscape of public procurement and what this will mean for small businesses trying to get access to new business opportunities. As many will know, there is a huge gap between public sector rhetoric on trading with SMEs and reality. This is not helped by the fact that there is no single accepted definition as to what constitutes an SME which gives everyone plenty of wriggle room to show just how helpful they are to the most important sector of our whole economy.
This conference appears to be specifically designed for SMEs who want to understand how to gain access to local government work and get a picture of what the new developments, initiatives and legislation coming out of government will mena for their business. Definitely worth giving up some time for fellow entrepreneurs!
