Keep Calm and Save Money

 keepcalm

Local government faces the biggest financial squeeze in its recent history, presenting Members and officers alike with tough and often unpopular decisions. While most local authorities already have plans in place for getting through the current financial year, many are struggling to find new sources of cashable savings beyond 2012/13.

SPS have published a new white paper, Having It All, which sets out a clear plan for how English local authorities can target the £50 billion per annum spent on procurement and commissioning in order to make a significant contribution to filling local budget deficits.

Following on from the white paper, our goal is to lead the transformation from the front by making available highly topical, on site skills and knowledge transfer programmes at superb value to local authorities. These can be run for upto groups of 16 people and can be run on a shared multi-authority basis. Costs and booking details are in the flyers in the table below.

Some of the most popular programmes are;

  • Understanding Contract and Relationship Management in the public sector
  • Understanding Category Management in the public sector
  • Implementing Supplier Relationship Development in the public sector
  • Driving up data standards - understanding the importance of classification and coding
  • Turning third party expenditure analysis into cashable savings
  • Make or Buy: how to make critical decisions in complex markets
